“I admit that some of what I’ve done has been less than honorable, but how could I ever deceive you with my words?” Feng Lianyi spoke and let out a light sigh. “I really didn’t look into your dream realm. I summoned the dream weaver to find something.”
The little red gold holy tiger came over and looked at the two of them with their strange postures, crooked his head and looked at them, puzzled. He whimpered a few times before running over and rubbing Huang Beiyue’s face.
“Go away!” Huang Beiyue shouted with a frown.
The tiger shrank in fear, before seeing that she wasn’t really angry. He went up to rub her, a pampering action that people couldn’t possibly fight against.
Huang Beiyue smiled and said, “He’s telling you to not get angry.”
“I don’t have to be angry, let me go!” Huang Beiyue gave a cold grimace.
Feng Lianyi felt as though he did too much for her. He wouldn’t have done such a thing if he’d cured her mindset. Embarrassed, he coughed lightly, slowly let go of her hand while standing up.
Huang Beiyue rubbed her sore hands, her cold eyes glancing up at him. She suddenly punched him in the face when he least expected it.
Feng Lianyi fell backward, covering his bleeding nose with his hand while raising his hand. “Didn’t you say you weren’t angry?”
“I said I wasn’t angry, but I didn’t say I wouldn’t hit you!” Huang Beiyue stood up and patted the dust on her body off. “Am I that easy to be taken advantage of?”
Seeing her say these words so smoothly and without the slightest bit of shyness, made Feng Lianyi blush a bit. “I, I’m not taking advantage of you.”
“I don’t care. What were you looking for with the dream weaver?”
Feng Lianyi slowly sat up and covered his bleeding nose with a handkerchief before stifling his voice and saying, “I can’t tell you, but it isn’t because I don’t want to. It’s a secret of my city.”
“I have no intention of prying into your secrets either. it’s just that I heard Honglian had also come out looking for the same thing. Are you two targeting the same item?” Huang Beiyue turned around and asked.
Feng Lianyi hadn’t known that she had already heard from Sima Guiyan that Honglian was also out looking for the ‘Boundless Million Beasts’, so Huang Beiyue took advantage of this situation and looped him in.
“That’s right, we’re all looking for the same thing.” Feng Lianyi nodded. “Lingyang Academy has been handed down for thousands of years, and several elders have grasped quite a bit of information about the Kaita continent’s ancient past. I originally intended to use the ability of the dream weaver to explore the dreams of Elder Nangong.”
“Did he detect it?”
Feng Lianyi shook his head. “He has shackles in his consciousness that aren’t so easy to detect.”
Huang Beiyue was slightly relieved that he wasn’t probing.
She was also frightened that he would learn from Elder Nangong’s dream the message of the one who sealed the nightmare within her body twelve years ago, the one who had a connection with Huang Beiyue and might be suspected.
“I was wondering about the rare treasures that both the Hall of Light and Xura City want.” Huang Beiyue said teasingly.
“I’ll tell you if I get a chance in the future.” Feng Lianyi laughed, his nose hit by her. It hurt him a bit, but she didn’t say anything.
